Some CIRCLE research projects involve comparing how tasks are performed in different EHRs, such as entering an order, interacting with decision support, or reviewing patient data. To conduct these studies, we typically have CIRCLE members demonstrate how these tasks are performed in their EHR using a test patient.

Other CIRCLE research projects involve comparing information based on clinical or informatics data retrieved from a data warehouse, such as the number of patients with a high HbA1c who don't have diabetes on their problem list, or the number of times a particular alert fired. To conduct these studies, we typically have CIRCLE members run a query against their data warehouse.
