Telehealth service is a psychological therapy service that is delivered via video conference where both a visual and audio link has been established between a client and their treating health professional. Research supports the effectiveness of providing services this way is similar to face to face.
Requirement to provide contact details and location
When working via telehealth with children and young people, the therapist will need to ensure there is an adult within your vicinity for safety purposes. At the start of the session the therapist will need to speak to the adult who is with you in the house. Because the client may be in varied locations for each of our videoconferences, you will be required you to provide your location at the commencement of each session.
Privacy in online communications
The privacy of any form of communication via the internet or a mobile device is potentially vulnerable and limited by the security of the technology.
In the event that the connection is unstable for whatever reason the remainder of the sessions will be conducted via the phone line. So make sure you have access to a phone.
It will also be imporant that you have a space to allows confidentiality at your end, so headphones may be required.
Please be aware that you are responsible for any costs incurred in relation to the provision of your own software, hardware and data usage associated with this Telehealth service.
