• 2020 CIA Member COVID-19 Student Safety Requirements & Information To Return To Class

Households with more than one student enrolled will be required to sign one agreement per each enrolled student within their household.
  • Dear Students and Parents,

We hope that this finds you and yours safe and healthy!  We were very happy to have several members return to us in the last few months since "stay at home" orders were lifted in California.  For those who have not done so yet, we missed seeing you all and look forward to seeing you very soon!

The below information is specifically for those families who decide to pay for CIA membership during each month and return to to class.  While full CIA class schedules (as they were before COVID-19 began) are not fully back in place, due to safe distancing requirements, the city and county do allow us to be open during Stage 2 and Stage 3, with specific health and safety requirements for the club lessons, private/small group lessons and Open Shooting which require us to restrict our group sizes to ensure safe distancing protocols are kept at all times.

If you wish to return to class at the beginning of a new month, please let Lani know as soon as possible, by filling out and signing the agreement below, and an invoice will be sent to you no later thanone week prior to the first class session of the following month along with all other members that have already returned to class in previous months.

Please do not show up to your previous class date/time as these have changed temporarily during COVID-19 and walk-ins will not be permitted.

Only those who have paid for membership prior to the beginning of the upcoming month will be added to the official class schedule for the upcoming month to ensure that final class size limits are kept and that lane assignments are given to students.

Final class schedules will go out by no later than the mid-day on Friday before the first class of the upcoming month and will be posted on the club website (click here).

CIA Weekly Sessions will be limited to no more than 11 students/class, based on class level.  Students will be placed in groups based on their current advancement level (beginners with beginners, intermediate with intermediate, etc) as well as based on which students work well together.  Each class will be with rotating lines of 5 - 6 students but we will have 1 1/2 hours.

There will be no make-up sessions if a student is unable to make the scheduled session.  However, if advised at least a week in advance, Lani may be able to do a one-time switch with another student IF everyone involved agrees with the switch.

Classes will not go past the time allotted and students will be required to exit the building promptly at the end of the scheduled class time.  Any students who are not on time will not be given extra time to make up for the tardiness.  Full class sizes and condensed lines will resume once Stage 3 is in effect by the county.

Hand Sanitizer will be available at the front door and we ask that all students use it as immediately upon entering and upon exiting the range. All targets and bale pins will be sanitized by the coaches in between each class. Students will be asked to use their own bow stands for the time being. If a student does not have a bow-stand please let us know and we will allow them to use a ground quiver for the class which will be sanitized after every use. The bow trees will not be used during classes until Stage 3.

    Students MUST:

    • Wear a face mask at all times, which MUST cover both the nose and mouth AT ALL TIMES while in the building, throughout the lesson or when in close proximity to the front door of the range.  Gloves are encouraged but not required.

    • Setup/Take-down Equipment outside of the building with safe distancing which is at least 6 feet from the front door and from each other.

    • Leave all unessential equipment/bags in the car or outside with a parent (no exceptions) .  Do NOT leave your unessential equipment/bags outside unattended.  We are not responsible for personal items left outside unattended .

    • Wait until the prior class has exited the building and one of the coaches has advised that the next class may enter.  Bows will be kept with students at all times.

    • Sanitize their hands upon entering the range immediately and then immediately move into the main area at the 5 Meter line.  To avoid issues with proximity there will be no gathering at the entrance or hallway area at any time and the party room will remain closed at all times.

    • Stretch outside before class so that we can utilize as much of the scheduled hour for each class.

    • Bring no fewer than 6 arrows per class to ensure that they have enough arrows without the need to go outside at anytime during the lesson unless there is an emergency

    • Remain in the building during their scheduled session unless they are either asked to leave the class or they are finished class for the day.

    • Either wash their hands thoroughly or use sanitizer immediately before and after using the range restroom

    Additionally:

    • Parents/guardians will be asked to wait outside at a safe distance from the front door (6 foot minimum) or in their cars for precaution. Only students scheduled for the class may enter at time of scheduled session once the coaches say they may enter.

    • Parents/guardians (one at a time only only) may enter the range to use the range restroom if necessary, but they must immediately exit the range upon completion.  If this occurs, the parent/guardian must use hand sanitizer or wash their hands immediately before and after using the range restroom.

    • Any students that show signs of illness as deemed related to known COVID-19 symptoms will be asked to leave immediately for the safety of all other students (no exceptions) and no make-up class will be available for the missed lesson

Weekly Open Shooting will be limited to no more than 6 attendees/session.
(every other lane starting at Lane 1)

All Open Shooting reservations must be made in advance and no walk-ins will be available at this time..  Open Shooting reservations will first be offered to CIA members first and then the general public (within our normal requirements). Reservations for Open Shooting must be made through the South Bay Archery Lessons range website (click here), not through the CIA club website.

Payments will be required in advance to reserve any Open Shooting spot (by credit card/invoice) or by use of a purchased/gifted Open Shooting Card (punch or monthly) only.  No cash or check will be accepted at this time for health reasons. Reservations will be assigned a lane (you can request your preference if it is available)

The same health and safety requirements will apply as for CIA sessions (please see above).  As always, Open Shooting is no instruction, but we will be monitoring it more than usual to ensure everyone is staying within the health guidelines.  Anyone not adhering to the guidelines will be asked to leave the immediately for the safety of all other attendees.

We will require all students (18 and older) or parents/guardians (for students 17 or younger) to sign off on this letter to ensure that they have read and agree to all requirements before permitting them to enter the range.
