Safety Considerations for Virtual Learning
-
During all program virtual offerings, the following Zoom and/or Google Meet features will be turned off by the facilitator: Screen shares, screen recording, and file transfer. All participants will be muted. Participants will be unmuted by the instructor.
-
The rule of three will always be followed online. We’ll use Zoom’s waiting room feature to ensure that the first attendee comes online with at least one other participant. Similiar procedures will be used for Google Meet.
-
We will only be sharing the meeting link with Lab School families and Arete staff.
-
Please either create a virtual background or make sure your student is in a neutral location at home, such as in front of a blank wall.
Standard of Conduct for Participant's Online Behavior
-
Demonstrate respect for the instructors and other students.
-
Present yourself appropriately as if you were going to school.
-
Turn off your video if you need to leave your computer for any reason (ie go to the bathroom/leave the room for a few minutes).
-
When you are muted and want to say something, just raise your hand.
