Hello! My name is Enrique, and I am the Youth Engagement Coordinator for NAP and partner of Access Granted/Getcheckedomaha team but most importantly I will be the adult over seeing this Project!

A little about my role and the project:

- I am a community sexual health educator who’s primary objective is to engage youth and provide outreach, education and prevention talks and information for safe practices and resources for testing/condoms/education and all that fun stuff!

-the STIGMA BUSTERS is a way of achieving that goal of engagement by having other students be involved to help reach more students. Research has shown that young adults and teens are more eager to take advice from people similar to them verses an adult due to the awkwardness of this topic. 

That being said;

The STIGMA BUSTERS: SEXUAL HEALTH INFLUENCERS is a project that will take social media and use it as a platform for education and resources. THATS WHERE YOU COME IN! For us to reach this goal we need to reach people that are not already following us on Instagram and Facebook. education is only as good as its reach and you would be helping by being another avatar for this information! 

The way this will be done is through monthly zoom meetings where we will discuss a topic together and be confident in answering questions on that topic, after there will be a designated video that will be emailed to you to post on your pages. the goal there after is that you are a confident advocate for that information and can speak on it if anyone reaches out for extra information. (sometimes the questions may be tough, but I will always be here for those!) we may have some events, fundraising, and in person opportunities to table, or present information but i will leave that up to the team to plan out! U will always fund and support any outreach events (especially pizza parties).

Once a quarter ends and all the hard work has been done, on the last meeting we will have a debriefing and go over anything we can do next time. each student will receive a 25$ visa gift card for their time in the program, any volunteer hours needed and documentation as well as any professional resume references from me as an educator or volunteer coordinator.
