    Summary:

    • Abatement of Taxes for MT Sinai Christian Fellowship
  • We, the undersigned, offer thanks to the QC Times and WQAD 8, news organizations for recently bringing our plight to the public's attention...

WE ARE IN DIRE NEED OF THE SUPPORT OF OUR COMMUNITY.

SAD TO THINK THAT AFTER SERVING AS A PLACE OF WORSHIP IN THIS QUAD CITY COMMUNITY SINCE 1991, OUR SCOTT COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS HAS MANAGED TO TURN AN EVENT OF CELEBRATION, THANKSGIVING AND EFFECTING CHANGE IN OUR COMMUNTY INTO A “UNGODLY” NIGHTMARE FOR OUR CONGREGATION.

THE SCOTT COUNTY BOARD WOULD HAVE YOU BELIEVE THAT MT. SINAI'S IGNORANT NEGLIGENCE IS AT FAULT FOR OUR CURRENT TAX DILEMMA AND THAT THEY ARE “BOUND BY LAW” TO DENY OUR ABATEMENT REQUEST. In order to protect investor(s) determined to covertly assume our property "A Church".

WE ARE RIGHTLY OFFENDED BY The Powers That Be!

Mt Sinai's present experience has demanded our effort in this matter to bring awareness to the taxing of "churches" (nonprofit tax exempt charitable organizations) and put an end to the possibility of this issue perpetuating.

We submit that a church that is registered with the state as "nonprofit tax exempt" should not have to suffer a penalty of being taxed by the county because of document filing (we agree that document of proof of nonprofit tax exempt should be filed), however the fact remains, that, nonprofit exemption never changes for churches regardless of relocation within the city, county or state.

We also submit that the present and future actions against Mt Sinai Christian Fellowship C.O.G.I.C. be Abated, because of this perpetual fact. "CHURCHES" are nonprofit tax exempt charitable organizations.

We urge the Scott County Board of Supervisors to surrender their position in this matter of taxing Mt SInai and set the record straight.

WE NEED THE COMMUNITY'S SUPPORT TO SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT AND SAVE OUR CHURCH.
